Traders at Bakara Market, which is the largest in Somalia, staged protests over the punitive tax measures at the facility.
The traders staged their protest on Wednesday.
They hit out at the local administration for imposing what they referred to as “punitive tax measures”.
According to them, the market will remain closed until their grievances are addressed.
Recently, Bakara Market was on news for a huge inferno that destroyed much of the market this causing traders to incur massive losses.
