A traditional elder lost his life during an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in Jowhar, in Middle Shabelle.
The attack took place on Saturday, December 11.
Reports indicate that two regional Members of Parliament (MPs) suffered injuries during the same incident.
The elder who died in the incident has been identified as Abdullahi Suleyman Omar.
Yusuf Abdulkadir Karani and Omar Mohamed have been identified as the regional lawmakers injured in the attack.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack as yet.
