Turkey and Somalia have announced plans to work closely on the media sector. Mehmet Yilmaz, Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, made this announcement on November 15.
He announced joint plans between the two nations on media and information while meeting Osman Obokar Dubbe, Somalia’s Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism.
During their Sunday meeting in Mogadishu, they visited the studios of Somali National Television (STV).
Afterward, Ambassador Yilmaz commended the dedicated and energetic Somali youths he saw working at the studios.
He said that institutions such as STV are providing young Somali men and women with opportunities for ensuring that the rest of the country receives accurate information.
Yilmaz and Dubbe discussed ways of improving existing cooperation and relations between Turkey and Somalia in media, information, and other relevant sectors.
