Turkey Condemns Terror Attack at Mogadishu’s Hayat Hotel

The Turkish government has strongly condemned the terror attack that took place at Hayat Hotel in Mogadishu.

The hotel was the scene of a deadly attack by Al-Shabaab terrorists that started on Friday evening.

Reports indicate that 20 civilians died in the attack, which ran into the following day when the terrorists barricaded themselves on the hotel’s top floor.

Turkey, through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, released a statement dated August 20 condemning the attack.

“We condemn the heinous attacks in the strongest possible terms,” the statement read.

In the statement, Turkey wished Allah’s mercy on those who lost their lives while extending condolences to those whose loved ones died in the attack.
