The government of Turkey has congratulated Somalia for celebrating the 66th anniversary of the National Flag Day.
Somalia celebrated its National Flag Day on October 12, 2020.
Every year on October 12, the country holds events to mark the day when its blue flag with a white star placed in the center was created.
The East African nation’s flag was created on October 12, 2020.
Mohammed Awale Liban is the man credited with designing the flag, which was hoisted for the first time around the country on July 1, 1960.
On Monday, Turkish Embassy in Somalia issued a statement congratulating the Horn of Africa country for celebrating the National Flag Day.
Moreover, it reiterated its belief that the flag would continue to serve as the symbol of independence and national sovereignty for the government and people of Somalia.
