Hulusi Akar, the Turkish Minister of Defense, promised that his country would continue supporting various projects in Somalia.
Akar made this promise on September 4 during his meeting with Hassan Hussein Haji, the Somali Minister of Defense.
The meeting took place at the Turkish National Defense Ministry offices in Ankara.
Akar and Haji held a closed-door meeting first before chairing talks involving their respective delegations later.
Their discussions revolved around bilateral and regional issues affecting their respective nations.
Akar stated that Turkey would continue supporting the people and government of Somalia to ensure that peace and security prevail in the East African nation.
Turkey remains one of Somalia’s most important international allies.
