The government of Turkey has promised to support the newly established Early Warning Center in Somalia.
Turkey vowed to support the center with tech support to improve its capacity.
The news was relayed on August 20 when Hamza Said Hamza, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, held a video conference with Turkish officials.
During the conference, the Turkish officials promised the center digital weather forecast.
Additionally, they also promised the minister several equipment and systems to enable the center to predict and monitor drought.
Turkey will also deliver remote sensing equipment and support to the center.
The center is critical in Somalia as it captures data that provides timely warning to the Federal Government of Somalia on upcoming disasters.
