Turkey’s Foreign Minister Attends a High-Level Video Conferencing Meeting on Somalia

On Wednesday, Mevlut Cavusoglu, Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, attended a high-level video conferencing meeting on Somalia.

Primarily, the African Union-organized meeting discussed the steps that need to be taken to help Somalia embark on full political transition.

Additionally, the meeting also sought to find ways of supporting Somalia’s ongoing pursuit for peace following the devastating effects of COVID-19.

Cavusoglu posted news regarding this meeting on Twitter. Part of his tweet read, “Turkey will never stop supporting the brotherly and friendly Somalia.”

Thus far, the East African nation has confirmed over 530 COVID-19 cases. Deaths from the virulent disease have also reached 28 while the country has recorded 29 recoveries.
