The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has set up a greenhouse at the Hargeisa University in Somaliland.
Officials from the Turkish Embassy in Hargeisa joined Mohamed Haji Osman Jama, Somaliland’s Minister of Agriculture, in launching the greenhouse on December 16.
Ilhan Turus, TIKA’s Coordinator for Somalia, was at the launching ceremony too.
Hargeisa University, a state-run institution of higher learning, becomes the first university in Somaliland to have a fully operational greenhouse.
The facility will help students studying agriculture by providing them with an avenue for practicing their skills.
