Ziraat Katilim, a Turkish bank, has announced plans to open a new branch in Somalia.
The bank made this announcement when a delegation from Turkey visited Ambassador Gamal M. Hassan, the Minister of Planning, Investment, and Economic Development.
Osman Karakutuk, the bank’s Executive Vice President, led the Turkish delegation.
Ambassador Gamal hosted the delegation comprising the bank’s top executives in his office in Mogadishu on Wednesday, December 9.
Gamal hailed the team for kick-starting negotiations with the appropriate offices of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS).
He affirmed the government’s keen interest in facilitating the bank’s new Somalia branch.
