A suicide bomb exploded in the heart of Mogadishu killing two people.
The target of the attack seems to have been a hotel that Internally Displaced Persons inhabit in Somalia’s capital.
The explosion happened at a time when the security situation in Mogadishu seemed to have improved after the government put several stringent measures in place.
Officials of Somali National Army (SNA) and other government security forces also use the restaurant a lot.
Following the explosion, security forces converged at the crime scene immediately. They closed most of the entrances and exits at the establishment.
Al-Shabaab claimed that it was responsible for the attack. Security agencies of the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) are yet to comment on attack.
