Two people have died of hunger at internally displaced persons (IDPs) camps in Dhusamareb.
Abdirahman Ali Mohamed, the Dhusamareb District Commissioner, confirmed this turn of events on Saturday.
According to the District Commissioner, the two individuals passed away on March 19.
DC Mohamed, who was in the company of a regional Member of Parliament (MP), visited the IDP camps when he discovered the deaths.
Several IDPs are at the camps he visited to escape from the biting drought.
Somalia is currently in the middle of one of its worst droughts and humanitarian crisis of the last 40 years.
