Two people were jailed for spreading Christianity in Somaliland, a top government official confirmed on Tuesday.
On October 5, Faisal Hiis Elmi, the spokesperson for the Somaliland Police Force, stated that the two individuals were arrested in Hargeisa and taken to court.
They were then tried and jailed for the crime.
Elmi has not released further information on the identities of the two individuals other than saying that they were Christians.
