Two ministers in Puntland have lost their jobs following the deadly clashes that occurred on Monday, July 11 in Bosaso town.
Puntland’s Vice President Ahmed Karaash sent the two ministers packing a day after the clashes.
The clashes caused the deaths of 20 individuals, who included 17 soldiers and 3 civilians.
Vice President Karaash sacked Hussein Osman Lugatoor Gebiley and Ahmed Yasin Salah.
Gebiley had been the regional Minister of Civil Aviation while Salah served as Puntland’s Minister of Ports.
The Vice President mentioned that the deputy ministers in those two dockets would serve as full ministers on an interim basis with immediate effect.
