Two Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers were killed after the truck they had stopped exploded in their presence.
Authorities believe that terrorists wanted to use the truck, which was laden with explosives, to attack an army base in Kalabeyr, Hiran.
The incident took place on Friday, August 5.
Senior SNA officers hailed the soldiers who stopped the truck. They believed the soldiers thwarted what could have been a worse attack at the army base.
Three other soldiers were wounded in the explosion.
