A military court sitting in Mogadishu has sentenced two Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers to death for the murder of an Army Commander known as Mohamed Suleiman Abukar.
The two were accused of killing the Army Commander on October 19, 2019.
Following his murder, four men were arrested and charged with the crime. Two of the accused were each sentenced to five years in jail.
According to charges filed at the Armed Forces Court by the Prosecution Office, the accused persons carried out an “intentional” murder against their former colleague.
The two soldiers whom the court sentenced to death have been identified as Juule Gabow Ibrahim and Hassan Shuute Osman.
