The government of Somaliland recently hosted a high-level delegation from the United States led by Ambassador Richard Riley, accompanied by U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Michael Langley, the commanding officer of U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM).
During the visit, the two sides engaged in strategic talks focused on shared security priorities, maritime safety, and regional defense cooperation.
Ambassador Riley reaffirmed the US’s longstanding commitment to enhancing regional stability and supporting Somaliland’s security efforts.
The U.S. delegation also traveled to the coastal city of Berbera to assess critical infrastructure that could bolster maritime security and defense collaboration.
Somaliland expressed its profound appreciation to the United States for its continued support and unwavering dedication to ensuring peace and security across the region.
