The United Arab Emirates (UAE) announced plans to help reconstruct the Sabun Dam in Jowhar.
Seif Ali Al-Rashash announced this on Tuesday when he held discussions with Dr. Ahmed Abdi Adam, the Deputy Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA).
Rashash, the UAE Deputy Ambassador to Somalia, reassured Dr. Adam of support in restoring the dam.
He added that the reconstruction of the dam would provide Middle Shabelle farmers with a welcome relief.
The dam would reinforce ties with some of the remotest regions in the area.
