The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador to Somalia visited the Speaker of the Senate (Upper House) on Saturday.
Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi received UAE Ambassador Mohamed Ahmed Al-Othman on June 4.
The two leaders discussed several issues touching on their respective nations.
First, though, Ambassador Othman congratulated Speaker Hashi for winning the elections held last month for the leadership of the federal parliament.
Moreover, they spoke about the need for strengthening cooperation between Somalia and UAE.
Speaker Hashi and Ambassador Othman discussed ways in which the UAE can support Somalia’s drought response efforts.
