Somaliland’s Justice and Welfare Party (UCID) has blamed the government over the surge in COVID-19 numbers.
Lately, the resurgence of COVID-19 has created a lot of panic among the people of Somaliland.
Ahmed Alale, UCID’s Secretary of Health, issued a statement on Wednesday, September 29 asking the government to take responsibility for the resurgence of the deadly disease.
He accused the government of failing to take preventative measures designed to keep the disease at bay and stop it from spreading further.
Further, he requested the government to increase awareness of the disease among members of the public.
According to Alale, the situation has been worsened by the failure of the Coronavirus Task Force to play its role in stopping the disease from spreading further.
Alale mentioned that 25 people tested positive to the deadly disease on Tuesday, September 28.
