Brig. Gen. Richard Otto, Commander of the Ugandan troops serving under African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) visited his contingent in Baraawe on Thursday.
Baraawe, which is in Lower Shabelle region, is roughly 208kms from Mogadishu.
Ugandan AMISOM contingent are based in the coastal town. The contingent based here is known as Battle Group Twenty Nine (BG XXIX).
While at the camp, Brig. Gen. Otto commended the soldiers for the professionalism and disciplined, which they had displayed in their service.
He reminded them that their core service was to protect civilians, maintain peace and security, and secure the surrounding towns and centers.
