Ugandan contingent in the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) now have a new commander.
Brigadier General Keith Katungi is the new commander.
The new commander assumed office on December 18.
He takes over from Brig. Gen. Don Nabasa, whose one-year tour of duty in Somalia has expired.
Brig. Gen. Nabasa handed over to Brig. Gen. Katungi during a colorful ceremony that Maj. Gen. Sam Okiding presided over in Mogadishu on Friday.
Maj. Gen. Okiding hailed the incredible work by Brig. Gen. Nabasa’s team.
Okiding is the Deputy Chief of Uganda’s Land Force.
