Uhuru Asks Farmaajo to Stop Provoking Kenya

President Uhuru Kenyatta has issued a warning to Somalia’s President Farmaajo to stop provoking Kenya.

He issued this warning one day after skirmishes along the Kenya-Somalia border. The conflicts pitted the forces of Federal Government of Somalia against troops loyal to Abdirashid Janan.

In Kenya, the fighting between the two groups disrupted normalcy in Mandera Town forcing residents to flee and hide.

President Kenyatta said, “President Farmaajo should cease the unwarranted provocations. Instead, he should focus on helping his country to manage her internal affairs well.”

The Kenyan President noted that Somalis have grappled with terrorism, lack of peace, insecurity, and instability for decades.

He asserted that the people of Somalia need their government to help them overcome these problems. “Provoking Kenya will not help Somalia achieve its goals,” President Uhuru said.
