The United Kingdom Ambassador to Somalia, Mike Nithavrianakis, co-chaired the Somalia Stability Fund’s High-Level Steering Committee alongside senior representatives from Somalia’s Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation. The meeting reviewed achievements under the Fund’s critical stabilization programs and shaped strategic priorities for the year ahead.
The Somalia Stability Fund plays a vital role in supporting inclusive governance, reconciliation, and peacebuilding across Somalia’s federal member states. Today’s discussions focused on enhancing locally-led solutions to strengthen institutions, improve service delivery, and promote stability in vulnerable communities.
“The UK remains a steadfast partner in Somalia’s state-building journey,” said Ambassador Nithavrianakis. “Through the Stability Fund and our broader cooperation, we are working hand-in-hand with Somali authorities to deliver lasting peace and prosperity for all Somali people.”
The UK continues to be one of the largest contributors to the Somalia Stability Fund, reflecting its long-term commitment to Somalia’s development and security.
