UK Embassy and USAID Construct Water Pipes for Kismayo IDPs

The United Kingdom’s Embassy in Mogadishu is constructing water pipes to help internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kismayo, Jubbaland.

USAID and the UK Embassy are constructing the pipes in conjunction with the Jubbaland administration under the leadership of President Said Abdullahi Deni.

The water pipes will run for around 7kms.

They will connect several IDP camps outside Kismayo, which is the administrative capital of the regional state of Jubbaland.

Consequently, roughly 6,000 people are likely to benefit by accessing safe and clean water.

UK Embassy, USAID, and the Jubbaland administration announced the construction of the water pipes on Saturday, May 14.
