The United Kingdom has welcomed the resumption of talks between Somalia and Somaliland.
Talks between the two kicked off in Djibouti on Thursday before concluding on Friday with announcement of an agreement.
The UK Embassy in Somalia issued a statement following the announcement.
In the statement, the UK recognized the significance of the agreement reached between Somalia and Somaliland.
It termed the agreement the “backbone of reconciliation” between Somalia and Somaliland.
