The United Kingdom has thrown its weight behind the decision to extend the mandate of the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS).
This week, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) voted to allow ATMIS to continue operating in Somalia until December 31, 2023.
The UK reassured Somalia and ATMIS of its readiness to support the war on terrorism and extremism.
It hailed all those who have played a role in making Somalia secure.
Through its Embassy in Mogadishu, the UK indicated that it would support all efforts to strengthen security and stability.
