The United Kingdom is prepared to increase its support toward Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF).
Mike Nithavrianakis, the UK Ambassador to Somalia, revealed this on Sunday during his meeting with Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail.
Ismail, who is also known as Fartaag, is the Minister of Internal Security.
Ambassador Nithavrianakis visited the internal security minister at the ministry’s headquarters in Mogadishu.
Apart from increased support to SNAF, they also discussed ways of countering violent extremism.
Amb. Nithavrianakis and Fartaag also talked about post-African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) plans.
ATMIS will completely leave Somalia on December 31, 2024.
