The United Kingdom has promised to support Somalia’s quest to build a sustainable economic future.
This emerged in a recent meeting between ministers from Somalia and the UK in Mogadishu.
Dr. Elmi M. Nur had received Andrew Mitchell at his offices in the Somalia capital.
Dr. Nur is Somalia’s Minister of Finance while Mitchell is the UK Minister of State for Development and Africa.
Mitchell had been on an official visit to the East African nation.
In his meeting with Dr. Nur, they discussed various issues including the ongoing economic reforms in Somalia as well as the response to the worsening humanitarian crisis in the country.
Mitchell informed Dr. Nur that the UK remains a committed partner to Somalia.
Further, he added that the UK government would continue standing by Somalia as the East African nation builds a sustainable economic future for its people.
