The United Kingdom’s Minister for Africa, Lord Collins, has voiced support for the recent diplomatic discussions between Somalia and Ethiopia, which took place in Türkiye.
He emphasized that these engagements could play a pivotal role in bolstering regional cooperation and fostering stability in the Horn of Africa.
This aligns with the UK’s broader commitment to supporting peace and collaboration across the region.
Last week, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of Somalia and Ethiopia led their respective countries in signing the Ankara Agreement.
Türkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was the chief mediator seeking the reconciliation of the two countries that had been experiencing a diplomatic standoff since the beginning of the year.
