The United Nations in conjunction with the African Union are to train Somali Police Force (SPF) officers on election security.
The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) made this announcement on August 6.
It announced that it would partner with the United Nations Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) and AU to provide Somali police officers with topnotch training.
The East African nation is currently in the middle of senatorial elections.
Parliamentary and presidential elections are to follow later.
According to a press release from the UNDP, the training will target police officers in two regional states first; that is, Southwest and Jubaland.
