Officials from the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs met with a delegation from the United Nations to finalize the Joint Justice and Corrections Programme (JJCP).
Hassan Sheikh Ali, the justice and constitutional affairs minister, received a delegation led by Kiki Gbeho.
Gbeho is the Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General.
She’s also the Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM).
Apart from the justice ministry, other officials present at the meeting were from the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
JJCP is a programme that cements the cooperation between the UN and the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS). It has been operational since 2015.
