The United Nations (UN) has reiterated its commitment to supporting Somalia’s pursuit of peace and prosperity.
UN Country Team in Somalia issued this reassurance through Adam Abdelmoula, the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General.
He spoke during a meeting with Speaker Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe of the House of the People (Lower House).
Abdemoula and Speaker Madobe discussed the dire humanitarian situation in the East African nation. They also spoke about the need for climate adaptation and resilience building.
The ongoing reconciliation efforts in Somalia also featured prominently in the discussions between Abdelmoula and Speaker Madobe.
