A top United Nations diplomat says that effective communication is central to good governance in Somalia.
Kiki Gbeho, the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, said this while addressing a Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism forum.
Gbeho spoke on January 19 while attending an event by the information ministry to launch the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) communications plan.
FGS has now established a government communications office.
The UN diplomat urged government officials to focus on the enhancement of communications in all its departments and agencies.
She also spoke about the UN’s continued support of and partnership with the ministry.
The UN Deputy Special Representative reiterated the role that communication can play in enhancing the understanding of the development agenda.
