UN Encourages More Somali Women to Join the Correctional Sector

The United Nations has encouraged more Somali women to join the correctional sector.

Recently, the global organization held a workshop in Mogadishu for women correction officers.

Fifteen women correction officers attended the workshop.

UN personnel at the workshop encouraged more women to join the security docket too.

Additionally, they stated that the justice sector needs more Somali women too.

In the view of the UN officers, gender responsiveness should be a priority.
