James Swan, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Somalia, has started meeting candidates for the post of the Speaker of the House of the People.
UN Ambassador Swan held meetings with some of the candidates on April 17.
He met the candidates in Mogadishu.
The candidates that showed up for the meeting with Ambassador Swan included Sharif Mohamed Abdalla Hussein.
He also held a meeting with Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur.
The other candidate who met with the UN Special Representative for Somalia was Abdullahi Aden Ahmed.
House of the People legislators are scheduled to elect their new Speaker in the next few days.
