The United Nations Habitat carried out a workshop to train 29 councilors in Somalia’s Warsheikh District on service delivery and accountability.
UN Habitat held the workshop throughout September 2020.
The training was part of the extensive activities that UN agencies in the country organized to improve the welfare of Somalis.
UN Habitat said that the training is important since there is need for “improve accountability and service delivery at the local level.”
It organized the training jointly with UN Habitat Regional Representation, Somalia’s Ministry of Interior and Federal Affairs, and HirShabelle’s Ministry of Interior and Local Governments.
The EU Delegation in Somalia and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency participated in the training too.
