UN Officials Visit Kismayo to Assess Impact of Drought

Officials from various United Nations (UN) aid agencies traveled to Kismayo on Monday to assess the impact of the ongoing drought.

They were in the company of Abdirahman Abdi Ahmed, the Jubbaland’s Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.

During the March 7 visit, Ahmed and the UN officials met several displaced persons.

Kismayo is home to more than 600,000 individuals left displaced and homeless owing to the devastating drought.
