The United Nations says that Las Anod clashes have displaced more than 185,000 people.
UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) issued a statement on Sunday supporting the report by Magatte Guisse.
Guisse, the Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia, spoke on this matter on Friday.
The Humanitarian Coordinator for Somalia mentioned that the clashes left 80 people dead between December 28, 2022, and February 28, 2023.
Furthermore, 451 non-combatants were injured in the same period.
The over 185,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) are likely to cause a massive humanitarian crisis in Las Anod and the surrounding areas.
