UN Says Somali Floods Have Killed 14 People

The United Nations says that the ongoing floods in Somalia have killed 14 people.

UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that many Somalis lost their lives, livestock, and property in different parts of the country.

Specifically, OCHA mentioned Gedo as the worst-hit place.

Gedo has experienced the highest amount of rainfall in the country in the last few days.

Apart from OCHA, several other humanitarian organizations have raised concerns about the likelihood of deterioration of living conditions.

They singled out camps for internally displaced persons (IDPs) as the likeliest to endure the worsening of living conditions.
