The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has taken note of the concerns Somalia has regarding the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Ethiopia and Somaliland.
UN SG Guterres made these observations following the discussions he held with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
They spoke on Wednesday over the phone.
Guterres reassured President Mohamud that the UN continues to reaffirm its respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and unity of Somalia.
He expressed hope that the parties in question would embrace constructive and peaceful dialogue.
