Robert Piper, the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Adviser on Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Solutions, is in Somalia.

Piper visited Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre of Somalia in Mogadishu on Sunday.

During their meeting at the Office of the Prime Minister, they discussed the current IDP and humanitarian crisis in the East African nation.

Somalia has a massive IDP and humanitarian crisis.

The situation is worsened by decades of conflicts and a drought that’s the result of failed rains in consecutive seasons.

They agreed to explore ways of finding durable solutions to the IDP problem.
