The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General (SRSG) to Somalia held talks with several women civil society groups in the country.
SRSG Catriona Laing met with the civil society groups on Wednesday.
It represented the first meeting between Laing and the civil society groups.
The UN Special Representative commended the groups for the pioneering and significant role played in issues ranging from politics to climate change.
Laing encouraged women in those groups to speak up.
She assured them of her support and that of her office too.
