The United Nations has called upon Somalia to conclude the drafting of the country’s new constitution.
Catriona Laing led other UN leaders in Mogadishu in calling for the speeding up of the constitution writing process.
Laing, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) of the UN in Somalia, spoke during a press conference held in the nation’s capital on Wednesday.
She was speaking during the UN Day.
SRSG Laing added that the new constitution would define the rules of the game.
She reminded Somali women in the country of her unwavering dedication to ensure that they play a significant role in making their country peaceful and secure for all.
