UNDP Somalia Hosts Inclusive Consultations on 2026–2030 Country Programme

Mogadishu, Somalia – The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Somalia convened a high-level consultative meeting in Mogadishu on Thursday, bringing together key stakeholders to deliberate on the findings of the Independent Country Programme Evaluation (ICPE) and shape the forthcoming Country Programme Document (CPD) for the period 2026–2030.

The meeting gathered representatives from the Federal Government, Federal Member States, civil society, youth groups, and persons with disabilities, reflecting UNDP’s commitment to inclusive and participatory development planning. Discussions focused on assessing the impact of the ongoing 2022–2025 programme cycle, identifying lessons learned, and aligning future priorities with Somalia’s national development agenda.

The ICPE, conducted by UNDP’s Independent Evaluation Office, provides a comprehensive review of the effectiveness, relevance, and sustainability of UNDP interventions in Somalia. Stakeholders offered feedback on progress made in areas such as governance, climate resilience, youth empowerment, and economic recovery.

UNDP Somalia emphasized that the new CPD will be co-designed with local actors to ensure it is responsive to the evolving needs of the Somali people and aligned with the broader goals of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and Somalia’s Vision 2060.

The consultative process will continue in the coming months across different regions of Somalia.
