UNDP Working with Somalia’s Regional Governments to Fund New Schools

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced plans to partner with regional governments in Somalia to fund the construction of new schools.

UNDP stated that Somalia is struggling to educate its children. The reason for this is lack of adequate schools.

Furthermore, one in every three children in Somalia currently goes to a primary school. UNDP wants to push this number higher.

For this to happen, UNDP has agreed to help regional governments and administration to improve their tax collection.

Secondly, the organization’s partnership with regional governments is designed to ensure that they provide quality services efficiently.
