The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has distributed thousands of dignity kits to Somali girls and women in internally displaced persons (IDPs).
UNFPA distributed 1,600 of such kits to girls and women in the IDP camps.
The organization handed over the kits in the IDP camp at Kabasa on Thursday.
It hopes to take the campaign to other IDP camps soon.
UNFPA targets camps in Dkt. Qansaxley, Kaxarey, and Ladan.
While handing over the kits in the presence of representatives of international partners, UNFPA urged more women and girls to get the kits.
Its officials added that the kits preserve the dignity of women and girls while empowering them.
