The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Somalia has expressed gratitude to DAFI for providing scholarships to refugees in the country.
DAFI, officially known as Albert Einstein German Academic Refugee Initiative, runs a program that allows refugees in Somalia to pursue higher education.
Through it, several Somali refugees have earned undergraduate degree in whichever country where they have sought asylum.
Since its inception in 1992, DAFI has enabled over 15,500 refugee students to pursue higher education at universities and colleges in more than 50 countries around the world.
Similarly, UNHCR also hailed the contribution of the German Foreign Office in working closely with DAFI and the global organization to support refugee-centered initiatives.
