The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has placed a call for immediate food and water assistance to Somalis affected by the ongoing drought.
According to estimates from several global organizations, the drought in Somalia has affected more than 4.5 million people in the country.
On February 28, UNICEF indicated that the affected families need more food and water as soon as possible.
Animals that Somalis rely on for their daily upkeep are already dying in their droves.
Without sufficient animal feed, donkeys are losing their lives after being left with no option but to eat plastic materials at garbage dumping sites.
