The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has congratulated Somalia for conducting a highly successful measles and vaccination campaign.
Wafaa ElFadil Saeed Abdelatef, the UNICEF Representative to Somalia, delivered the congratulatory message when she met with Dr. Ali Haji on Thursday.
Dr. Haji is the Somali Minister of Health.
When the two met in Mogadishu, Saeed congratulated Dr. Haji for organizing a highly successful measles and polio vaccination campaign around the country.
The vaccination campaign targeted children under the age of 5 years.
Thus far, the health ministry and other partners have vaccinated 2.3 million children.
